The British Kerr percussion revolver

full_leftThe London Armoury company was founded by some of the best gun-makers of England: Robert Adams, the Dean brothers and James Kerr. In 1859 Kerr presented his 54 bore single action revolver for trials at the Royal Manufacture of Enfield. His five shot solid frame revolver clearly had some advantages compared to the famous Colts, but it was considered less effective than the DA Adams revolvers.

Kerr’s revolver went into production, but only a few hundred was sold in England, the vast majority was sold to the Confederate States of America.
